could not post a reply under the heading so here it goes: As a personal chef, i try to use all available techniques to create great tasing meals. For years i used a gas gril & was real satisfied, until one day while seraching for exotic smoking woods to put into a smoke box, i came accross the BGE store in Atlanta. I tasted the samples offered and instantly changed my mind to buy a Big Green Egg - this Ceramic smoker / grill is incredible as the temperature control is easy to adjust, enriching the flavor of meats that stay moist & succulant. Best of all when searing steaks at 700F the formed crispy crust encapsultes the tender inner pink meat . No other grill or smoker can do this. I am hooked for life.
This post is from chefaronaldi but due to a technical glich he was unable to post this fine essay. He sent me a PM and I have moved it here for him. Looks like stiff competition from the start!

I loved my green egg for years..last fall My green egg was stolen at my apartment complex..I have not replaced it due to the high cost of a new one and my limited income..My green egg..i loved it..I have a small outdoor grill, but its not the same as the BGE..
you really don't know what you have sometimes until its gone..
I can understand the passion that you people here in this forum have for the BGE..I have been there..thanks

I have had my Big Green Egg for 3 months now, I already threw away the Weber. These things consistantly produce the most tender, moist, flavorful BBQ one could ever wish for. There is a lot of hype surrounding these things and it is all for very good reason. There really is no other way to cook that will give you that real BBQ/Smoked flavor yet the meat always stays so moist and tender. Other BBQ's and smokers just dry food out, that's not BBQing that's dehydrating. Big Green Egg's Rule !!!!!

I bought a $7 dollar duck at the Chinese market--cut out the backbone--folded it in half--salt and pepper only both sides and cooked it on the egg for 4 hours on low.WOWWWWW.What a hit.

As I began reading your essay I could no help but to think that It would be nice if you had the little program that I have. So here is the link, it is also free and an indispensable tool that i could not live without. Another such program is The google tool bar. Try it too.
