I'd go to this one again. It's a large chain and all but it's really done about as well as anyone I've been in and the prices are great. I have been making it my business to try different bbq restaurants lately even though I know I want find the great flavors of what comes off my Primo just the taste and see what they have. So I tried a sampler of their ribs and a small sirloin (Med). The ribs were fantastic and the sauce was too (not sweet like most places). The tenderness of em was perfect and the appearance and bark on the outside was great too. If they steamed or even boiled these before finishing them, then they have perfected that way of doing it. The steak was cooked to the perfect degree of doneness and juicy, I did taste a little too much saltyness in it though. Don't get the draft though - it was weak. Go to:

www.texasroadhouse.com it's at Barrett Parkway

I been side tracked this weekend with a 2 day golf tourney, but I enjoyed all the post yesterday...ya'll are cooking fools as someone already pointed out.

Glad you enjoyed it. Some chains are "ok"...as far as product goes. The chains that let the local restaurant do their 'thing' instead of following strict company protocol, are better, and this looks like one of them.

Years ago, Sonny's BBQ used to be fairly lax on company procedure. The three in our town each had the 'basic' menu, but then each one had a few things different from the others. They were popular. Then corporate said "NO MORE" individualism, you "Must do as we say". We are now down to "2" Sonny's. I only know this cuz I was a friend of the guy that owned the franchises.

Mebbe we'll get one of these in my area one of these days. Smokey Bone's sux, as does Dave's. Ain't been to Sonny's in 10 years ::) Altho I would eat in the above three before I set foot into another Tony Roma's!!!!

The family next to us got a small cup of chile for an appetizer and the wife didn't like it much, but the guy got ribs for his entree and I was hoping he would and thought about telling him to. Anyway we heard him tell the waitress they were VERY good.

i wholly concurr, i have stumbled out of that barett pkwy location more than once, full of ribs and ice cold beer.

i must admit, though, i have not been in an single bbq joint since i got my ceramic 8 months ago.

i used to go to sonny's a lot, the ayce beef is good, but i found it to be different at different locations. once i got what i would describe as pot roast as opposed to sliced beef

They've built a few Sony's BBQ's around here in the past couple of years. P...U...I went with some people when the one close to us opened a couple three years ago. It was a complete disappointment. Everyone except my wife, boys and myself were raving about how good it was. I sat there with my nose turned up the whole time. I didn't even finish mine, which is very unusual for me. Everyone thought I was being a snob, I told them "You just don't know what good Q is." Well they all know now after being exposed to ceramic Q. Several have told me that I ruined restaurant BBQ for them forever.

Tony Roma's and Smok'n or Smokey Bones are just as bad. When I told the waitress at Tony Roma's that the brisket was dry and the ribs were tough she sent the cook over to our table. He comensed to tell me that I was eating championship BBQ and that I didn't know what I was talking about. I said you sure know how to retain customers, we never went back and they went out of business. Go figure.

We just had a Texas Roadhouse open here, but I haven't tried it yet. I'll check out the ribs and blame Gd and hvac if I don't like em. ;)

I was surprised when it opened, because we already have a Logan's Roadhouse, which looks almost identical, all the way to the bucket of roasted peanuts on each table.
